INTERVAL MAGAZINE

Editorial Approach

Fresh, focused work is central to Interval. Short, contained projects—such as a single shoot exploring one subject in a day—translate particularly well when distilled into a small number of strong images.

Each issue is carefully curated and designed to maintain a cohesive visual language. Contributors may submit more images than will be published; final image selection, sequencing, and layout are curated to suit the allocated pages. Minor adjustments may be made for consistency, limited to cropping or proportional resizing.

Sizes

  • Full page: 8 × 10 in (2400 × 3000 px)

  • Double-page spread: 16 × 10 in (4800 × 3000 px)

Full-bleed images must extend 0.125 in beyond the page edge for bleed.

Submit via the form below or email a link to the cloud storage/file transfer to

andrew@photobooksnow.au

Include a link to a Google Drive, Dropbox, or WeTransfer folder.

Do not email files individually .

Contributor Allocation

Each contributor receives:

  • Five image pages

    There will be one spread in the centre of the magazine, assigned by chance

  • One text page (maximum 250 words, submitted as a .docx file)

Each issue features a limited number of contributors.
First in, best dressed.

Number of Images to Submit

  • Double-page spread: 3–4 images

  • Four additional pages: up to 12 images

Maximum total: 16 images

Text File - Use name as title, format as

docx rtf or pdf

File Naming:Use clear, consistent filenames:

Intervals_SURNAME_FIRSTNAME_DATE.jpg

Please do not use Photo Books Now in file names

Pricing

Contributors may purchase copies at cost via Blurb ahead of the public release.
Discount codes from blurb.com will be shared when available.

Image Specifications

Aspect Ratio

  • Use one aspect ratio per submission

  • Accepted ratios: 1:1, 2:3, or 3:4 and up to two files of 1.6:1

  • No borders or frames

File Format & Colour

  • JPEG

  • CMYK

  • 300 dpi minimum at final size

Submission Terms

  • Contributors retain full ownership of their images

  • Images may be used across Photo Books Now and Interval Magazine social media for promotion
