Since 2013, Sporadically at first then more regularly I’ve photographed along High Street, from the Westgarth area in the south to Reservoir & beyond in the north. I’ve curated the images into a collection documenting the changing aspects of the space, what used to be mainly greek coffee shops to a regularly changing selection of higher end hospitality, independent fashion and retail. The whole are still has a great feel and I like more stores along here than in most other areas of. Melbourne, but I do wonder how long it will take to become sanitised and no different to Chapel Street or Bridge Road. I’ve tested a few ideas and will continue working on the project - Ultimately I want to exhibit the work in a disused shopfront on High Street and produce a book of the work.
